Super Mario Firewall v1.0

Super Mario Firewall uses famous Super Mario sound effects to monitor incoming and outgoing network traffic collected from a university’s firewall.

Mario’s jump, death, coin, and pipe sound were mapped into four different traffic statuses which are allowed, denied, reset, and dropped in sequence. Based on the source/destination positions and the size of the traffic, the sounds are distributed to Tesseract (a movable high density speaker array with 32 speakers) and change the pitch of the sound and the amount of reverb and chorus.
